What is pH balancing and why is it important for my lawn?
A proper soil pH is necessary for a healthy and green lawn. With North Carolina’s naturally acidic soil, it is important to maintain a neutral soil environment. If the soil becomes to acidic, the turf grass plant will not grow properly, becoming susceptible to fungus, or in some cases, die.
How do you adjust the pH of my lawn?
The most common way to adjust the pH of the soil is through lime treatments. Lime is an extremely basic material, so these treatments will level the pH environment of your lawn’s soil. These treatments are generally applied in the summer time. Once the treatment is applied, the lawn should be watered to allow for the lime to soak-into the ground.
